On 24 June 2026, the LIFE Street HP Reno project brought together more than 100 participants in Lyon, France, for its final public event as part of the Cooperation for Better Renovation conference. The event showcased the project’s achievements to date and shared practical lessons from pilot projects across Germany, France and Italy.
Despite temperatures approaching 40°C, the day began with the project’s final consortium meeting, where partners reviewed the results of the various pilots and coordinated the remaining deliverables before the project officially concludes in September 2026.
In the afternoon, ShiftUp contributed to the public programme with the workshop “How to Mobilise Residents for Collective Heat Pump Purchases”. Drawing on successful German pilot projects, Florian Bonert presented practical strategies for engaging homeowners, organising collective renovation initiatives and turning neighbourhood interest into successful collective heat pump projects.
A second workshop in English focused on financing models for deep renovation, bringing together experts from across Europe to discuss how investment can support the large-scale deployment of renovation and heat pump solutions.
The event offered an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences with researchers and industry representatives, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in accelerating the energy transition.
Although the Street HP Reno project will officially conclude in September 2026, the work does not stop there. ShiftUp remains committed to further developing and scaling the collective purchasing approach that was designed, tested and refined throughout the project. Building on the experience gained in the pilots, ShiftUp will continue supporting municipalities and communities in launching neighbourhood-based heat pump programmes and helping make the heat transition faster, more affordable and easier for homeowners.
