New pilot project for AREC Reno launches in Berlin

Our partner Verband Haus- und Wohneigentum, Siedlerbund Berlin-Brandenburg e.V., officially kicked off demand aggregation activities in the Neuland I, II and III/IV settlements.

More than 70 residents joined the information event last week and demonstrated a remarkable level of interest and engagement. The discussion quickly evolved into an intensive Q&A session, covering topics ranging from heat pumps, district heating networks and grid capacity to financing, renovation strategies and future energy supply.

The strong turnout confirms what we see across Europe: homeowners are ready to explore renovation opportunities when they receive trusted information, practical guidance and the chance to act together.

Through LIFE AREC Reno, we are helping communities turn individual renovation decisions into collective action – making energy-efficient renovation more accessible, affordable and scalable.

A special thanks to Prof. Dr. Katharina Gapp-Schmeling and Melissa-Raquel Treptau for leading and supporting the event.
